Dogecoin Cryptocurrency Dataset

Dogecoin

The Dogecoin blockchain loaded to BigQueryVIEW DATA SET OVERVIEWSAMPLES

Overview

Dogecoin is an open source peer-to-peer digital currency, favored by Shiba Inus worldwide. It is qualitatively more fun while being technically nearly identical to its close relative Bitcoin. This dataset contains the blockchain data in their entirety, pre-processed to be human-friendly and to support common use cases such as auditing, investigating, and researching the economic and financial properties of the system.

This dataset is part of a larger effort to make cryptocurrency data available in BigQuery through the Google Cloud Public Datasets program . The program is hosting several cryptocurrency datasets, with plans to both expand offerings to include additional cryptocurrencies and reduce the latency of updates. You can find these datasets by searching "cryptocurrency" in GCP Marketplace. For analytics interoperability, we designed a unified schema that allows all Bitcoin-like datasets to share queries.

Interested in learning more about how the data from these blockchains were brought into BigQuery? Looking for more ways to analyze the data? Check out the Google Cloud Big Data blog post and try the sample queries below to get started.

This public dataset is hosted in Google BigQuery and is included in BigQuery's 1TB/mo of free tier processing. This means that each user receives 1TB of free BigQuery processing every month, which can be used to run queries on this public dataset. Watch this short video to learn how to get started quickly using BigQuery to access public datasets. What is BigQuery .

SEC Public Dataset

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) financial dataVIEW DATA SET OVERVIEWSAMPLES

OverviewIn the U.S. public companies, certain insiders and broker-dealers are required to regularly file with the SEC. The SEC makes this data available online for anybody to view and use via their Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) database. The SEC updates this data every quarter going back to January, 2009. To aid analysis a quick summary view of the data has been created that is not available in the original dataset. The quick summary view pulls together signals into a single table that otherwise would have to be joined from multiple tables and enables a more streamlined user experience. This public dataset is hosted in Google BigQuery and is included in BigQuery's 1TB/mo of free tier processing. This means that each user receives 1TB of free BigQuery processing every month, which can be used to run queries on this public dataset. Samples

Try the sample queries below in the BigQuery UI.

Measurements:
The SEC dataset is derived from reports submitted to the SEC, which for large companies can be quite complicated. Along with revenue data (quarterly and annual), income, liabilities, assets and many more important financial data for a company are presented. As a matter of fact there are ~1.2M distinctly different measurement tags available in the SEC datasets. The top frequently occurring measurements can be found using this query. Most commonly the ‘NetIncomeLoss’ is seen but fields relating to company assets, revenue, liabilities, stockholders equity, etc. also make appearances.
Run this query.

Company annual revenue:
The data contains 22k unique measurement tags that contain the name ‘revenue’ so finding the right measurement tag for each company can be tricky. The most common tag to report revenue is ‘Revenues’, however some companies report their revenue with other tags including but not limited to ‘SalesRevenueNet’ and ‘SalesRevenueGoodsNet’. Many companies also report multiple rows for revenue so finding the topline revenue is not always obvious. This query shows how to find the revenue for a few companies. You can see that while ‘Alphabet’ and ‘Bank Of America’ use ‘Revenues’ to report annual revenue, companies like ‘Whole Foods’, ‘Pfitzer’ and ‘Amazon’ use ‘SalesRevenueNet’ or ‘SalesRevenueGoodsNet’, to report their annual revenue.
Run this query.

Total company revenue per State in 2016:
Other information about companies can be found in the SEC dataset as well. For example the State or Province of the companies mailing address can be found if the company is located in either the US or Canada. Using this information it is possible to compute the total revenues that companies in each state managed to achieve in a given year. For the year 2016 this example query will rank states by total corporate revenues.
Run this query.
